Honestly, I couldn't say enough good things about Josh Mettle and his team. They're professionals, that just want to get people in homes as fast as they can. Josh is a very friendly guy, that really makes you feel like there are no stupid questions when it comes to financing. We started this process quite awhile ago. There were many difficulties with our HOA on issues with the complex. Josh continued to follow up with them to start our loan process as soon as all of the issues were resolved.
After that it was the usual professional assistance we have come to realize is his way.

As I know the loan process has tightened up greatly over the past couple of years, the Mettle groups expertise and professionalism has made this experience nothing less than exceptional. I know the process behind the scenes was probably hectic and very labor intensive, but I felt none of the pressures and felt extremely confident in the Mettle group throughout the process. Josh and his group set the bar for a high standard, and delivered nothing less. The communication from one team member to the next was spot on.

We have always used Josh and his team for our home purchases and refinancing. They make things so easy and less stressful. When we have wanted to make changes in our loans or buy a new property there has never been a question of who we would call.
I often hear stories from other people about all the headaches and hoops they have to jump through to get a loan and I always think "We never had to do that" or "We never felt like that." Even now in a time when loans are harder to get and the requirements are tougher I still felt confident in Josh and his team and I know we are in the right place and working with the right people.
Everyone says that they have a "good loan guy" but we truly have the BEST loan team and I will tell anyone who asks (or even if they don't ask) how much we like/love and appreciate all that Josh and his team do for us!
My family and I moved to Utah about 3 years ago from Virginia. We knew we would have to replace certain contacts and professionals in our lives, namely doctors, dentists, bankers, etc. What we didn't consider was a lender we could trust who had our best interest as a priority. Back in Virginia we had always used a friend of the family who we had known for years. Here in Utah we were faced with filtering through all the potential companies to find someone we felt comfortable with. Luckily, our real estate agent gave us a recommendation and after a brief conversation I knew we had found someone here in Utah we could trust. We have used Josh and his team twice now (original loan on our home and a re-finance) and both experiences were great. I could use a bunch of adjectives to describe what they are like, but the most important thing to me was the responsiveness when we have questions, problems, or need answers on something. Everything I've ever asked for has been done. If I ever call or send an email, I get a response immediately. These are the things I appreciate most about Josh and his team.
My personal experience on getting a loan is a lot like raising kids. As soon as you say you are involved, everyone has advice for you on what to do. I must have had 25-30 friends and colleagues tell me where to go to get the best rate. Normally I'm the type of person to shop around for a good deal. Not in this case though - Josh is our lender and will continue to be as long as we are in Utah.
We had a very helpful and positive experience with Josh and his team. We found them very responsive and helped us see multiple options for our situation. We had been to another mortgage service provider prior and felt a bit like we were put on the assembly line, getting the "usual package." Josh spent time thinking through our individual situation and we talked about what the advantages and disadvantages were, for both short and long-term, of a few different ways of approaching our refinance. This helped us have confidence in the direction we were going and we are very happy with our new loan.

Josh and Citywide were great! I emailed Josh initially to see if there was a loan product with 100% financing as we were looking to buy and own a home without a large downpayment. My experience with Josh and his team was excellent. Josh returned my initial phone call within an hour. He took my information during our first conversation and immediatley started to set up the refinance. He emailed me back the next day with the first proposal. I visitied the office with some paper work and he explained everything that was going to happen in detail. I'm not the best at mortgages and financial details, and he was very patient!! After that his team worked with me to finish the deal. I had to send in some other explanations of some of my history, and they sent me templates to fill out, which was very helpful. The Title Company they set me up with was very efficient.

I have been through a number of mortgages and refinancings over the years and I have to say this was by far the easiest most pleasant one I have ever experienced. Overall it was a fantastic experience. We hadn't purchased a home is a very long time and obviously there are some new rules that make it a little tougher to get through the process. Josh's team (primarily Kristen and Josh) walked us through each and every step, making sure we understood what was needed and how it would be processed. The process, although lengthy and a bit complicated, was much more successful with such an ideal team. I loved that we focused on potential issues and worked through each one individually, so it seemed more manageable and not so overwhelming. Also, it was absolutely terrific that Josh and Kristen were available via phone or email, when there was a status update or issue. Communication is key and I don't think I've ever worked with a team with such fantastic communication skills.
We appreciate everything they did to make our closing a success and although we do not have any referrals at the moment, there is no doubt that we will be referring family/friends in the future.

Every encounter we have had with Drake has been good. He is always courteous and helpful. It was a very special case and I can truly say that NO OTHER COMPANY COULD OF MADE THIS HAPPEN. Great job team.

This was the first time that I had ever bought a home and they made the entire process very efficient and manageable, even with my work schedule. First of all we want to thank you for all of your hard work in helping us move into our home. This has been a dream for a long time for us and because of you and all who work there we were able to achieve it. We also want you to know that we are already referring you to friends and family, and will definitely continue to do so. There would be no reason for us to refer to anyone else as you were the ones who were able to help us! Along those same lines, our agent was definitely impressed with Josh and his team and told us that she would begin to refer to him as well. And the title company we went through, Aspen Title, was very much impressed with the work you did and repeatedly voiced this throughout the signing of the papers.
That being said we will say that from the beginning Josh Mettle was very, very helpful and knowledgeable about his line of work. I'll add that no other lender that we had spoken with previously presented us with either of the solutions that Josh did. He was very professional and had no agenda. 1. I wish I knew how much back and forth paperwork there would be as we went further in the process, I'm not sure if you can really help this, but getting the client as many forms as possible at one time would be helpful.
2. I felt like I had great response by phone with Josh and David, but when contacting Heidi I felt like I had to email her to get a response. Maybe she prefers it that way... I understand she is extremely busy and probably doesn't have time to answer phone calls, but just something I noticed.
3. Also little things like knowing I had to get home owners insurance (something most people probably know) and when exactly I needed to get it.

The services I received were great. Very fast and we were kept informed as the process proceeded. I have actually already referred two couples to Josh.
Our experience with your company was good, however there were some points along the way that caused us some real inconveniences. I understand that every loan is unique, and that the documents required for each one can vary greatly. However, it seemed to be that every day there was something popping up that hadn't been signed, or a document that hadn't been provided. Closing on a home is extremely stressful as it is, however there were multiple times where I felt like I must have been one of a thousand loans being closed by your company at the same time. Things were constantly slipping through the cracks. Even after we finally closed and signed for the home, we were contacted later the next day informing us that we were still missing documents.
All in all our loan was approved, and we closed on schedule, so I can't complain. I do know that it was a very busy time for your company, and I can understand the stress your group was probably under. I was very impressed with Josh from the beginning. He has always treated us like we were his only clients, and I really appreciated that. He also gave a discount on his costs to make sure that we could financially make the deal work.

Josh Mettle was the 4th lender/broker we contacted in our search for a home. We'd had terrible experiences with the others we'd worked with: uneducated staff, lack of follow ups, and just an overall lack of desire to help us. I would recommend CHL because they closed my loan within about a month which is great in today’s cautious lending practices. Number of expected documents were more than the past few years when the economy was better. However, the team processed them in reasonable time and with professionalism.

Working with Josh and David to obtain our recent mortgage was almost too good to be true. It was lots of work providing all of the documentation, but there was never a time when we could not get a question answered. All inquiries received prompt attention, and we always felt like Josh had time to talk with.
We mortgaged our first home in 1973 and have closed on several mortgages in years since then. This is the first mortgage that we truly felt a part of. Rather than providing the necessary information and waiting to hear back we were kept apprised of where the paperwork was in the system, what came next, and what was still needed. From the first meeting Josh to closing on our home was 22 calendar days.

I have used Josh Mettle for the purchase of three homes over the past three years, one of which was my first home purchase. Prior to Josh I worked with two other mortgage brokers of which I was not impressed with their ability to clearly explain the loan process or details that I felt were important for me to understand. We really appreciate the quick response from Josh and David regarding our recent mortgage. On day one, when we needed a pre-approval from Josh for an offer we wanted to make on a home, Josh was awesome. We were talking to him on the phone at 9:30pm trying to fill out a loan application. By the time we got home we had a pre-approval waiting in e-mail. We felt like we were being taken care of and the details were not being overlooked or put aside. We have worked with other lenders in the past and had some bad experiences. We did expect to have the same experience this time, but was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency Josh and David worked under. Time was a critical factor with this purchase and Josh got the job done.
Skylar did a good job as well. Because time was a critical factor, we feel he did everything he could to help the process along. He made himself available whenever we needed him. He also referred us to Josh, which ended up being a great experience overall. We will refer others to Skylar's services as well in the future.
We have always enjoyed working with Josh. Recently we referred our son to Josh for a refinance of his home. Obviously, we would not have done that if we were not pleased with what Josh has accomplished for us.
Josh has always been very informative and clear about the lending process, including rates, loan packages and timelines. He always answered questions and returned phone calls in a timely manner and never seemed frustrated with us when we wanted to see a new Good Faith Estimate based on different rates or packages and would even send them over email after the work day was done. We felt confident that we were able to get the best loan available based on his watch of the market each day and his access to information from multiple lending sites.
Buying a home lends itself to a process that can be frustrating and tedious. There were moments that felt irritating because of the underwriting process and although we did take our frustration out on anyone who would listen, we understand that the lending requirements and regulations were to blame for the frustration and not any person who was involved in purchase of this home. Josh was always quick to help us understand the reasons behind the issues we ran into and never got irritated with us when we felt frustrated. He really did do a great job and we appreciate him for his patience with us.
I would be happy to refer people to Josh. I don't know anyone in the market to buy a home right now but will pass along his information whenever I can.

My experience with your company was great. Every step along the way I like that I was able to ask questions and each person I worked with was more than happy to help me. I felt that every step of the way there was a priority put on getting me into a home. I was also well informed every step of the process, and if there were issues with a few things I was also notified of this. Some people may not appreciate being informed of hiccups that take place along the way, but I prefer honesty. I really liked that I was informed every Thursday through an email or phone call from David. I liked that the expectations of what type of service and when updates were given were set from the beginning. Also really liked the receptionist asking if I wanted a beverage!
I also really liked the pamphlet that was sent with my paperwork explaining what everything was as far as the annual percentage rate etc. I priced several things as far as appraisal, inspection fees etc and found that I was not overcharged. This was extremely important to me, being a single mom every penny counts!

Having not been through the process of buying our own home we had no idea what to expect when it came to financing, particularly because ours was a new build. To our delight, not only were we satisfied with the financing package that was put together, but we also found Josh's team to be consummate professionals.
The entire process seemed to be streamlined eliminating unnecessary or redundant tasks, and communication was clear and prompt. My wife and I found all members of the team to be courteous, respectful and patient, which was important as we were first-time home buyers. I put an offer on a short sale home the last week of May. We received notice that they accepted the offer and we had less than one month to close a FHA loan. Josh's team worked very hard on closing everything and it seemed they were working on all cylinders. It was like a machine where if each part worked properly and worked with each other it turned out to be a beautiful machine... haha... that is a lame example but that is truly how it seemed.

My name is Ken Nelson and I moved from Dallas to Salt Lake City in August of 2011 to start a new job. Prior to August 2011 I had never stepped foot in the state of Utah. I received Josh Mettle’s name through my real estate agent, Cindy Wood. We were going to relocate to Utah and we were looking for our dream house. My family came up to visit during Thanksgiving week 2011. We basically had one week to find a house that my wife Angela and I could agree on. Within 24 hours of my family being in town we came across a short sale that had just come on the market. We loved the house which was located on the bench in Draper, UT. The Draper house, which had spectacular views of the city and the mountains, had gone for $880,000 in 2008. We could have the house for $440,000 if we could close within 9 days. Completing a short sale in 9 days is no small task. This is where Josh and his team stepped up to the task. Josh had advised me to get pre-approved for a loan one week earlier (which proved critical). Josh got everyone on the same page (real estate agent, title person, appraiser, inspector, etc). If we did not close in 9 days, we would lose the house. Josh got the deal done in 9 days which most folks thought would be impossible. Josh will work tirelessly help you get your dream house. To summarize, Josh Mettle and the rest of his team (including David Nelson) are AWESOME !
Working with Josh and his team was overall a good experience. Josh and his team were able to do something that everyone else had told us was impossible! With such a short time frame to get things done in, and with our not so cookie cutter loan situation We were very happy to be told that things were going to work out, as we were able to purchase our home, and move in before the holidays.
Buying a home is always stressful, however when I made the decision to buy from the home owner instead of going through a real estate agent the stress quadrupled. Josh Mettle and his staff helped to make the process less traumatic. Whenever I had questions or concerns about the status of my loan they were quick to respond and were always patient and kind. The estimated numbers I received were close to the actual numbers at closing and Josh was able to get me a great interest rate.
Josh and his team were also very good at handling the only problem that arose during my home transaction. With less than a week before our estimated closing date (and about one week before I had to vacate my current apartment), we found out that one of the sellers was going to be out of the country and could not use power of attorney to allow a relative to sign his closing documents on his behalf. Because of this, the bank was ready to postpone our closing date by another week. This was not an option for me since it would leave a gap between me moving out of my current place and getting the keys to my new home. Josh and his team were able to work it out and allow the seller to come in early to sign and have me sign on a later date. Because of Josh and his team, we were able to close on time. I would definitely recommend this team.
